Long before there were food pyramids and macro-counts, there was a far older instruction, and it fits on a single line: eat what the season is offering, the way the season is offering it. Ayurveda has dressed this idea in a great deal of beautiful detail, but the heart of it stays that plain.

When the world turns cold and dry, the body wants the opposite — warm, oiled, grounding food that holds it together.

Notice this is not a diet. There is nothing to forbid and nothing to weigh. There is only a kind of listening: what does the light want, today, and what does my body want, and where do those two agree?
