what we keep, what we never touch
last updated · 20 august 2026
Hawa Being ("Hawa," "we," "us") runs hawabeing.com (the "Platform"). This policy sets out what we collect when you use it, why we collect it, and what your options are.
Hawa is a suggestion service. We help people find wellness practitioners and sanctuaries that might suit them, and we show you who we think is worth a look. Reaching out is up to you; we don't make introductions on your behalf. We don't process payments or bookings ourselves either, so anything you pay a practitioner or a sanctuary happens directly between the two of you, off the Platform entirely.
01 · what we collect
You give us your name, email, and whatever you choose to share in your quiz answers, including reflections on your circumstances and the kind of support you're looking for. If you message a practitioner through the Platform, that message and the contact details needed to reach you go along with it.
We also collect information automatically: your device and browser type, an approximate location based on IP address, which pages you visit, and how you move through the site. This comes through cookies, covered in detail in our Cookie Policy.
If you sign in through a third-party service, we'll receive your basic profile information (name and email, typically) from that service. Practitioners and sanctuaries sometimes share information with us as part of getting listed or vetted.
02 · what we do with it
We use what you share to suggest a practitioner, sanctuary, or piece of content in the Reading Room that might be relevant to you. We use it to run the quiz, to show you suggestions and let you message a practitioner directly if you choose to, to vet practitioners before they're listed, to keep in touch with you about your account or your requests, to keep the Platform secure, and to meet our legal obligations. If you've opted into Hawa Club updates, we'll use your email for that too.
We don't sell your information. We're not in that business.
03 · who sees it
The practitioner or sanctuary you reach out to sees what's needed to respond to you: your name, contact details, and your message. Beyond that, a small number of service providers who help us run the Platform, such as hosting and analytics tools, process data on our behalf under confidentiality terms. We'd only share information more broadly than this if the law required it, or if it were necessary to protect someone's safety.
Once you're in direct contact with a practitioner or sanctuary, what they do with your information is between you and them. It's worth glancing at their own privacy practices before you share anything particularly personal.
04 · how long we keep it
We hold onto your information for as long as it's useful for making good suggestions and running the Platform, and for as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete it at any point, see below.
05 · keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no system is completely airtight, and we can't promise perfect security. If anything changes that materially affects that, we'll let you know.
06 · where your data goes
Hawa serves people internationally, and because we're based in Bulgaria, your information may be processed here within the European Union, as well as in other countries where our service providers operate. Using the Platform means you're comfortable with that.
07 · your rights
Under EU data protection law (GDPR), and depending on where you're based, you have the right to see what we hold on you, correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete it, object to or limit how we use it, get a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time where we relied on it. Write to hello@hawabeing.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also raise a concern with your local data protection authority, in our case the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP), Bulgaria's data protection supervisory authority.
08 · if you're under 18
Hawa isn't built for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors. If you think a minor has shared information with us, let us know and we'll remove it.
09 · links elsewhere
The Platform links out to practitioner and sanctuary websites and other third-party services. Once you've clicked through, their privacy practices apply, not ours.
10 · changes
We'll update this policy as Hawa evolves, and we'll change the date at the top when we do. If you keep using the Platform after an update, that means you're fine with the new version.
