How we choose

From person to person, people we trust.

Places we have been. People we have met. Practices we have experienced. Sanctuaries we have visited. Articles that have helped us.

Nothing on HAWA comes from a directory or an advert. It comes to us through word of mouth, and we only share what we, or someone we trust, have experienced.

  1. 01

    Someone we trust recommends

A practitioner, a place, a practice or an article reaches us through a person who knows it: a member, a practitioner already on HAWA, a friend.

  2. 02

    We look at the work

We review their portfolio: their background, their training and the work itself.

  3. 03

    It has been experienced

We take the session, stay at the place or try the practice ourselves. Or the person recommending it already has, and that is why they recommend it.

  4. 04

    Then it joins HAWA

Only then does it appear here, with what we know about it, so you can choose for yourself.

And the articles

The Journal works the same way. Someone recommends an article that helped them, or a practitioner, a participant or a member writes one, and we publish it, credited to them. Read the Journal

Plainly

  • HAWA is free in our founding year: no fees, no commission. Practitioners and sanctuaries set their own prices, and you pay them directly.
  • Hawa is not responsible for the services provided by practitioners. All practitioners are independent, and any agreement for services is between you and the practitioner directly.

Know someone we should meet?

This is how HAWA grows. Tell us who or what, and why it mattered to you.
