Willka T'ika sits in Peru's Sacred Valley at 9,400 feet, between Cusco and Machu Picchu — which makes it both a destination and the wisest place to let your body meet the altitude. The grounds are the point: seven gardens laid out on the chakras, a lucuma tree a thousand years old to meditate beneath, and thirty-five rooms each named for the Andean medicinal plant growing at its doorstep. Up to sixty-five guests can stay, in luxury or garden-view rooms. Q'ero healers from the high Andes and Quechua wisdom keepers lead the ceremonies. Breakfast and dinner are organic and vegetarian, harvested from the gardens each morning.
