Healing Retreat

( the feeling of it )

Fifty hectares, eleven rooms, and not a single thing on the schedule unless you ask for it.

( the story )

A 50-hectare healing farm in Franschhoek with eleven sanctuaries, a bath house ritual every day, and food grown, baked and harvested on the land.

Sterrekopje is a farm that decided to heal people. Fifty hectares outside Franschhoek hold just eleven sanctuaries and suites — rooms of twenty-five to sixty square metres, each with a private terrace, a king bed and a separate shower and tub. The land grows more than sixty varietals of indigenous and heritage plants, and what it produces moves straight through the Kitchen and the Bakery: vegetables harvested that morning, bread baked here, honey from hives you are welcome to help tend, ferments made the old way. Rates include everything — all meals, all drinks, all the farm's rhythms, and one Bath House ritual a day. There is a herbal apothecary, a yoga yurt, an atelier and a soul shed. There is no set programme. Minimum stay is two nights, and most people wish they had taken more.

Deep rest turns out to be a skill, and the farm teaches it without ever mentioning it.

Come and be looked after.
