Yoga Retreat

( the feeling of it )

Up in the hills above Playa Pelada, where the howler monkeys start before the alarm does.

( the story )

A boutique retreat centre in the hills above Playa Pelada, Nosara — eight flexible units around an open-air ocean-view yoga shala.

Casas Kismet sits in the hills above Playa Pelada, on the Nosara coast of Guanacaste. The yoga shala is open-air with the ocean in front of it; below are eight units — four Karma rooms with ocean views, a three-bedroom Karma Penthouse, and the three Dharma rooms — with beds that convert between king and twin so a group can be arranged around whoever is coming. That flexibility is the point: the place is built for visiting leaders running retreats in yoga, martial arts, fitness, healing and transformation, with a gym and a restaurant on site. The chef works with local, fresh, mostly organic ingredients.
