( the feeling of it )

A hundred and seventy-five square metres of open rooftop above Uluwatu, and a 6°C ice bath waiting downstairs.

( the story )

A teacher-training centre high on Bali's Bukit Peninsula with a 175 m² rooftop shala, a fifteen-person sauna, a 6°C ice bath and room for twenty-four.

Salty Prana sits high on the Bukit Peninsula at Uluwatu, looking across the water toward Nusa Penida. It runs two shalas: a 175 square metre open-air rooftop with the ocean in front of it, and an 80 square metre air-conditioned room with a projector and sound system for when the teaching needs walls. Ten rooms take a maximum of twenty-four guests, and the whole centre can be booked at once. Between practices there is a private sauna for fifteen, a large ice bath kept at 6°C, and an in-ground pool surrounded by seventy-five square metres of teak decking, all set in tropical gardens with coconut trees. The kitchen is fresh, organic, locally sourced vegan and vegetarian, designed by a professional chef. The trainings run 200-hour and 300-hour Vinyasa, 50-hour Yin, and 100-hour modules.
